Our range of

diagnostic services

We believe having the latest diagnostic equipment is essential for identifying what’s wrong with your pet and providing the best possible treatment.

Accurate and timely diagnosis is the cornerstone of effective pet care. Our advanced diagnostic services combine state-of-the-art equipment with the expertise of our skilled veterinary team to quickly identify health issues and guide the most appropriate treatment.

From blood tests to imaging, we aim to provide fast, reliable results that give you peace of mind and ensure the best possible care for your pets, without unnecessary procedures. Pet wellbeing is at the forefront of our minds.

x-ray

Digital X-Ray

X-rays are a vital tool for everything from checking for broken bones and dental issues below the gum line to identifying bladder stones or swallowed objects (foreign bodies). For materials that don’t show up on x-ray, such as certain plastics or clothing, we can use special techniques such as barium studies. In addition, we offer x-rays of unusual pets – like tortoises experiencing difficulties with egg-laying.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of internal organs. The procedure is painless and usually doesn’t require sedation, making it a gentle way to examine vital organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, and bladder – or to confirm exciting events such as pregnancy.

Endoscopy

We have a wide range of endoscopes: long, flexible tubes with a camera and light, allowing us to examine areas such as the nose, windpipe, throat, and stomach. For more advanced surgical procedures, we use rigid endoscopes, such as during laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, including taking internal biopsies and performing laparoscopic neutering.

In-House Laboratory

Having a comprehensive range of in-house laboratory equipment means we can test your pet’s blood and urine on the spot, giving us immediate results to diagnose, treat, and monitor their health. We know that waiting for answers can be stressful, so having results quickly helps put both you and your pet at ease.

Rapid testing also allows us to start treatment straight away, which is especially important in emergency situations, where any delay could compromise your pet’s health.

Our laboratory is also vital for surgical safety. On the day of an operation, we can perform a pre-anaesthetic screen to minimise the risk of complications. When recommended, we can carry out a more detailed profile to check blood counts, electrolyte abnormalities, and other important indicators.

For our senior patients, many of whom require long-term medication for heart, thyroid, or arthritis conditions, in-house testing allows us to monitor treatment effectiveness and ensure their overall health is maintained.

From blood counts and kidney or liver screens to checking for urinary infections or medication levels, our laboratory plays a crucial role in providing fast, accurate, and comprehensive care for every pet in our practice.
